Holiday Blues!

The holidays are over and I didn't take a single picture! I'm going to have to kidnap Marilyn's camera because she took tons! Does anyone else get the blues when the holidays are over? I love all the decorations and the pretty lights, I hate having to put it all away in Jan. Last year the Christmas village was out until March... He he he. One advantage of having lots and lots of snow, the yard lights won't be coming down very soon, they look so pretty in the snow and under the snow. The extra lights on the houses help to light our very dark cul de sac also. I'm definately going to petition for a street light to be put in, it is a little worrisome. Sorry this is a boring, pictureless post. I'll make that my new years resolution to take more pictures!

It is great to hear from you again! Sorry you are so blue. I used to leave me decorations up halfway through January, but them I became obsessive about cleaning it up...I don't know...

FINALLY! With or without photos, it's good to see your blog pop to the top of my list again.

I get "during the holiday" blues. In fact, this year, Kraig asked me if I have some horrible christmas memory that makes me dislike it so much. So usually I'm chomping at the bit to get Christmas put away the 26th :) Kraig makes me wait until New YEar's though. Well, almost to new years. It was too sunny and warm outside to not take the lights down, only to have to do it in the freezing cold and snow because I kept putting it off.

Hope you can get some photos of your christmas! We'd love to see 'em.

I'm just glad you posted! Yay! My holiday blues come from having to go to work all 5 days.

And putting stuff away because it is such a chore. Have you noticed that putting the stuff up is fun? Of course you have -- you get to sing and laugh and remember. No singing when you put stuff away...

Well, my Christmas stuff is still up. I hate taking it down...seems like so much work and then the house seems empty...probably more empty of Christmas spirit than of "stuff", but empty just the same. I chose to take down wallpaper and get our master bath redone, rather than take down Christmas...so now I am stuck with taking it all down this weekend. Before I know it, Paige will be asking me to get Valentine's Day decorations up - where does the time go?

Good to hear from you and catch up through your blog! You have a beautiful family.

Tricia has a name for this time of year. She calls it WinterMuck! We are going to actually have a big holiday party by the same name!

Nice to see a new addition to your blog, Cory. The powderroom bathroom still looks like Christmas but the tree is down--easy because it didn't have ANY ornaments on it this year. I looked at the Nativity on the bench in the kitchen and decided to leave it out a little longer, too. By the way, Christmas eve is my "Christmas Blues" time because I always worry that everything is "equal" and I haven't forgotten anything that I tucked away earlier. I forgot the new briefcase I bought Dad this year. :( I didn't remember it for days!!!!

I think you need a trip to Sunny El Paso :) to cure your winter blues. Plus, I need to start learning some Spanish.

Corey, I am really enjoying your blog! Your little girls are beautiful. I smiled about your Christmas village--last year I kept a tree up and decorated in my basement until March--telling myself it still fit in because it was decorated with woodland elves in a snowy forest. I finally took it down when all the snow melted around St. Patrick's Day. I'm feeling quite unmotivated myself in this cold weather, but I am encouraged by a little more daylight every day by 7am!
